Various activities during Hung Kings Temple Festival

HCMC – A variety of activities will be held during the Hung Kings Temple Festival in Phu Tho Province from the first to the 10th of the third lunar month (March 24 to April 2) to pay tribute to the founders of the nation.
The events will take place at the Hung Kings Temple historical site in the province’s Viet Tri City and surrounding areas, according to Nhan Dan newspaper.
Visitors can take part in various activities, including the ritual of offering incense to the kings, exhibitions, folk games, a farm produce fair, and a banh chung (square glutinous rice cake stuffed with pork and mung beans) and banh day (round sticky rice cake) contest.
They will also enjoy traditional music performances, lion dances, a martial arts show, puppetry shows at Van Lang Park, and the Hung Kings Cup tennis tournament.
The Hung Kings Temple is located on Nghia Linh Mountain in Hy Cuong Commune, Viet Tri City, about 100 kilometers northwest of Hanoi. The area houses a complex consisting of ancient tombs, monuments and temples. According to Ho Dai Dung, vice chairman of Phu Tho Province, the annual Hung Kings Temple Festival attracts large numbers of visitors.
